The Winter Garden

Sat 23rd November £85

Tutor. Kate Tuke

We will look at and discuss: –

  • Pruning of a variety of plants
  • Planting – including bare-root trees and roses
  • What needs to be done in a mixed or herbaceous border
  • Planning and ordering plants
  • Friend or foe – how to help the good guys

After a delicious lunch, I will show you how to make a couple of different festive table decorations from foliage picked from the garden and you will get to make one of them. There will be other decorations for you to look at for inspiration. If there is still time, we may talk about ways that you can decorate your garden – from alternative door wreathes to subtle lighting to bring an extra sparkle to your garden.

You should go away with lots of practical information and inspiring ideas, as well as the table decoration.

You will need to bring suitable clothing and footwear for the garden walk. We will provide everything that you need for the table decorations.

How a day works. The day starts at 10 am and finishes at 4.30pm but the kettle is on from 9.30 so come and have a coffee and meet up.
All materials are included (unless extra ones requested). If the weather is likely to be warm we might suggest you bring a sun hat and some insect repellent.
Lunches are included in the cost of the course and always vegetarian and are cooked using our own ingredients grown in the veg plot wherever possible. If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know when booking your place.
Tea, coffee and cool drinks are always on offer throughout the day.

If you need somewhere to stay – check out our accommodation page!
