There is no right or wrong in art, only ways of seeing. We explore as many avenues as possible in order to widen the view and allow the ‘seer’ to express their interpretation to what is in front of them.
When you come into the art room the first thing that you feel is “anything is possible” a glorious room full of potential, anticipation and exceptionally good coffee and biscuits.
Time to share
All our food is vegetarian, cooked by our dedicated chef ‘Monique’ who uses produce grown on the site from our veg plot or locally sourced, travelling no more than 10 food miles away.
Skill sharing is such a pleasure, a pleasure to give and a pleasure to receive. Our tutors always say that they get back as much as they give out – “Skills can be found, like lost items that have always belonged to you. If the spirit of learning is there, the passion of creation will never die.” Melissa Jean.
Students have been coming here for over 7 years and friendships have blossomed in that time. There is so much sharing of knowledge, personal stories and above all support included in being a part of this art school whether on a regular basis or on an in-depth residential course.
Heaven in Devon
A little corner of exquisite Devon countryside with a view all the way to Dartmoor and only one mile from the market town of Honiton with a direct train line to London Waterloo, the art school is set in 15 acres of wild flower meadows, formal gardens, orchard, beech walk, veg plot and a secret Forest Garden to wander in, paint or doze in a corner with a book.
